Q – How do I contact you?

A -  you can e-mail us with any query or for a quote at info@morue.co.uk or by following one of the ‘e-mail us’ links on the site. If you wish to speak to the chef in person, don’t worry a contact telephone will provided on return of e-mail.

Q – Why is there no price list/ How much will it cost?

A –  As every assignment is unique, as every party or meal should be! So it is impossible to list exact prices on the site. Each job thus subject to a quote. The Chef charges an hourly rate to cook and prepare the meal for you, the ingredients will cost depending on what they are and how many guests you are having etc. The chef will however work within your budget and will help make suggestions as to where in a menu to spend money and save it. Thus ensuring you the best produce at the best price. He will also factor in the cost of travelling to you and any extra services you may want, e.g., a waiter. We do not charge you for use of our crockery or cutlery.

On average you could expect to pay the following for a three course meal:

for 2/3 people: from £350

for 4/6 people: from £450

for 8 people or more: from £550

Q – What types of food are available?

A – We specialise in a modern European and Western Style but many cuisines can be cooked if required. See our menu page to get a taster.

Q – How will I pay you when there is no online payment system?

A – The deposit can be paid by credit or debit card over the phone or we would accept a cheque in the post but we could not guarantee the booking until it had been received and has cleared. The rest of the bill will be settled on the day of the event by credit or debit card (we have a mobile chip and pin machine) or by cash.

Q – What are ‘front of house’ services?

A – Simply ‘front of house’ services are the table waiting staff etc. This can be provided at extra cost. Many people, certainly for smaller groups, choose to keep the hosting duties to themselves and thus the maintaining the dinner party feel, our chef will talk that over with you during the consultation process.

Q – Do you use my plates and cutlery or do you bring along your own?

A – We can arrive and use your plates and cutlery if you wish (you may have a particularly nice set you want to show off!) or we have a stock of modern restaurant standard plain white crockery for that fancy ‘dining out’ experience if you so require. We don’t charge extra for this.

Q – Do i get left with the washing up?

A – Not unless you really want to! The chef will leave your kitchen as spotlessly as he found it. One of primary goals is to provide as un-intrusive and discrete service to as possible. We pride ourselves on causing you as minimal disruption as possible, the chef will bring much of his basic and specialist equipment with him – although he will require the use of your saucepans and, of course, your oven and hob!

Q - Where do you operate?

A - We are based in Crouch End, North London. Principally we cover London and the South East but any location will be considered.
